FEB 21st – BASIL
I admit that I am a sucker for Italian food. I can’t help it. Pasta invariably becomes my happy place when it comes to mealtime. Of course, this never bodes well for dietary restrictions or dieting in general. Italian food isn’t inheritantly bad for me… just TOO MUCH of it is and if there were no size limits to my stomach, I’d be constantly chowing down on great Italian food.
The Kona Cotton color for today is Basil. This color is green like the leaves that pepper your memory with the fragrances of sweet and pungent herbs waiting to be cooked, sauteed, dashed and pinched into your favorite recipes.
And today I have sketched out an idea for a quilt that pairs Basil with Pesto, Eggshell, Sunflower and a hint of Chinese Red, like the chinese 5 spice that is so good on so many levels.
