April 30 – PFD Bleached White

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is PFD Bleached White. It’s not as bright as a straight white color, but not dark enough to be an off-white or cream. It’s that perfect color to blend with any other color, because it’s not stark, but a nice soft white, ready for anything!

With PFD Bleached White as your background fabric, you can’t go wrong. You can pick yours up here on our website.

When I was a little kid, I was in the Girl Scouts. And as a Brownie, the step before becoming a Girl Scout, I got to go on some camping excursions with my troop. And one of the fun things we got to do was make some tie-dye t-shirts. Funny thing about the dyeing bit is that they didn’t want us to use stark white t-shirts. It had to be a bleached white or slightly off-white shirt, because if it wasn’t starkly white, it held the colors better and made them look really rich and deep and not so light that they looked as if they could slide off any moment.

It’s funny the things you remember as a kid. I miss doing tie-dye projects with my kids, but it’s certainly something I can pick up once again with my grandchildren. And quilting too!
