June 13th – Eggplant….. Nope…. Not a Fan….

Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Eggplant. This vibrantly rich and dark hue of purple makes me want to snuggle up in something cozy…. like sweats or a robe or a quilt!

Almost everyone in my family loves eggplant but me. My kids love it. I don’t. I don’t know if its the texture or the taste or the combination of both. I’m just not a fan. I’ll eat it if there isn’t anything else around, but it isn’t my first go-to for foods. When we are in a local restaurant, I can count on at least 3-4 of my children ordering eggplant parmesan. Yeah. No. Can’t do it. But then some people think I’m strange if I put ketsup on my eggs. I guess it’s “to each his own”.

And speaking of something wonderful…. this next quilt is a beautiful doozy of a quilt. It’s gorgeous with that richly rewarding eggplant Kona cotton color. Let’s take a peek, shall we?

I love designing quilts with solid colors because then there is little guess work at the combinations of color and design working (generally) in harmony with each other.
