Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Ultra Marine.
It’s this not quite green, not quite blue, varying hints of teal underneath.
When I was a kid, I loved watching The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. It came right before Star Trek reruns. It was a Sunday night bonanza. It was Jacques Cousteau, the Wonderful World of Disney, and then Star Trek. It was the evening version of tv watching like Saturday morning cartoons.
When I was 10 or 11, we went to Louisiana where my Aunt, Uncle and cousins live. It was a major trip across several states (we lived in New York state at the time). I remember three very distinct things from that trip. First, the spanish moss hanging from the trees. I thought it was both awesome and creepy at the same time. Second, my cousin Danny had a dirt bike and he taught me to drive it on the back country roads of Louisiana – THAT was fun! Third, we took a trip to the coast and I got to see marine life (some of it, anyway) up close and personal. The highlight of the trip!
Now let’s add Ultra Marine to quilting pleasure! Below in this quilt, it is added to other colors to complete a rainbow modern look. Enjoy!
