Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Violet.
Today is my birthday. For the past several years I have celebrated my birthday by taking the day off, because who really wants to work on their birthday? Since this year my birthday falls on a Friday, and I only work for a few hours on Friday my birthday celebration will just start a little later. I usually spend the day celebrating by doing what I want to do. I usually start the day drinking a mimosas or two and quilting. Dinner is usually out, because who wants to cook on their birthday? In the past my husband and children would have baked me a German Chocolate cake, but now that it is just the two of us we really can’t or shouldn’t eat a whole cake by ourselves, so I will probably stop by the bakery and pick up a couple of cupcakes. Sometimes we take a hike or I just spend the afternoon reading a book. This sounds like the perfect day to me.
Speaking of perfect, today’s color is the perfect shade of purple. It is not too light and not too dark, but falls somewhere in the middle. I would pair this with Dk. Violet and Orchid, and then throw in some Iron, Pewter or Quicksilver and it would be as perfect as a piece of German Chocolate cake.
