November 6th – Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Pimento

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Pimento.

Pimentos are a mild chili pepper with a sweet flavor and very little heat. You commonly find them stuffed in the olives that you eat. You may also use them in dips or spreads because they add flavor and color. I have a cheese ball recipe that calls for them that I make and when they are blended with the other ingredients it tends to add some pops of color.

Today’s color Pimento does just that. It is an orange red that is more red than orange. Today’s quilt uses eleven different shades of red and each one of the colors pops and is stunning in this quilt.
