Today’s LAST Kona Cotton color of the day is OD Green. And we’ll get to the OD part in a moment and WHY its called OD. But first, a word from our sponsors…. I’m just kidding. We don’t have sponsors….yet. But what we DO have is a HUMONGOUS Kona Cotton End of the Year Blowout Sale! Yes, you read that right, ALL 365 Kona Cotton colors are ON SALE TODAY ONLY for 15% off! You won’t get another chance for this sale after today for another 365 days – a WHOLE year! So stop by our website today – Sew Charming Quilts – and pick up your favorite colors NOW!

Now to talk about OD Green. The O.D. for the color green is a basic military color that is often called OD, but it stands for “olive drab” – think the U.S. Army dark olive green. It was used as a camouflage color for equipment and uniforms predominantly during the Second World War. Olive drab was the standard color of the fighting uniform for U.S. soldiers and military vehicles during World War II.

But there is nothing really drab about our OD Green and it would work well with several other colors, such as….Seafoam, Ice Peach and Shell. It’s a little sad now that we have come a full year of detailing our Kona Cotton color of the day and now we say goodbye to the daily color post, but take heart because we aren’t going away…. we are just transitioning to the new year coming up – 2022. We have LOTS of fun things planned already.
