SHARK TALES!

FEB 25th – Shark

Today’s color is Shark, a nice medium-dark gray that speaks to another great neutral that can be used to soften bright colors and give your eyes a place to rest – when it comes to quilting, that is.

I took some of the brightest colors we’ve had in recent days/weeks and paired them with a strong color (black), but then used this medium/dark gray as the neutral background to soften the brightness of the colors some. And it works really well. Don’t be afraid to use grays as background fabric, especially with colors that are so bright, you have to wear shades!

What non-traditional colors have you used as background fabrics in your quilts? Show us pictures! We’d love to see them!
