March 7 – Why Do You Build Me up, Buttercup Baby….?

March 7th – BUTTERCUP

Most people don’t know that the title of this post are part of the lyrics of a song called Buttercup Baby by The Foundations in 1967. Yes, yes. I know that it dates me. Significantly. However, the first part of the lyrics goes as follows: Why do you build me up? Buttercup baby, just to let me down, and mess me around…. I need you, Buttercup baby….

Well, today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Buttercup. And I can’t look at this color or the name of it without having this song play in my head. But, opposed to a portion of these lyrics, this color will NEVER let you down! And in 100% agreement with the middle portions of the song lyrics, “I need you”… oh, yes, we do!

I LOVE this color! And this color will make a fabulous background fabric color with some purples, lavenders, greens or pinks!

See the following Quilt? It has Buttercup as the background fabric! And it is SO WORTH IT!
