March 9 – Kona Banana Pepper- Chili Pepper Madness

Kona Banana Pepper is the color of the day. This color reminds me of Italian Beef sandwiches. I know that sounds crazy, but let me explain. I grew up in the Midwest about 60 miles outside of Chicago, and one of my favorite places to eat was Portillo’s. They have an Italian Beef sandwich that is slow-roasted for four hours, thinly sliced, and served on fresh baked French bread. The standard sandwich is served by splashing a bit of flavorful, secretly-spiced gravy on it. This sandwich tastes best when topped with the homemade, oven-roasted sweet peppers, which is the way I order it. Others in my family prefer the hot giardiniera over the sweet peppers. Hopefully by now your mouth is watering and you can see where the Banana Pepper comes into play. If you ever get the chance to try Portillo’s, you won’t be disappointed. However you can visit us today and pick up some Banana Pepper fabric. (Italian Beef sandwich not included)

Kona matching colors Curry, Hunter Green, School Bus, Flame, Poppy, and Bonsai
