March 25 – The Storm Is Brewing….

Today’s Kona Cotton Color of the day is Storm. It’s a deep dark blue, just a hair lighter than Navy.

Recently we’ve had rain off and on over the last few days. I actually like rain and thunderstorms, I just don’t like storms that are dangerous and become tornadoes. One time when my daughter and son-in-law were visiting, we had a huge thunderstorm come through. It seemed like it came from out of nowhere and the rains were torrential. The trees were even being blown sideways there was so much wind, but there were no tornadoes thankfully. They can be scary. But, you get used to the spring and fall storms when you live in tornado alley. Interesting factoid for you… all 50 states here in the USA have had tornadoes and become at risk for tornadoes at least once per year and in some areas of the country, much more.

So let’s talk about our moody, stormy color. I think this color would be perfect in a rail fence quilt bolstering a happier color in the middle. See the quilt below.

Or perhaps this way is better. Dark and stormy days always knowing that sunshine is just around the corner.

Now tell us what colors you would pair storm with.
