Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Hunter Green. Hunter green is probably one of my favorite greens.
I grew up as a child of the 70’s. Yes, I know this dates me. But I grew up with green colors of the 70s that were NOT as cool as this color. No. Because my mother’s favorite color was green. Practically everything was painted green or green colored of some kind, including my clothes. My mother always kind of insisted that I wear green dresses, shorts, summer clothes and even my bathing suit. I think I had one yellow dress when I was in kindergarden, and one pink summer shorts outfit when I was 7. Mostly it was a sea of green. The house was painted green, my mother’s car was green…. it just seemed to go on. The refrigerator was green. In a 1970’s autumn gold colored kitchen. The carpet was green. Yeah. Like that.
I like green, just not the drab, popular olive greens of the 70s. I like THIS green. Hunter Green. It’s a medium to dark color that makes me think of darkly colored grass and forested trees.
And these are some great colors to pair with Hunter Green. Maybe these will work well. What do you think?

Any of these colors would make a striking quilt, like maybe an Irish Chain quilt or a Double Irish Chain. Or perhaps a Rail Fence. Go hunt for some Hunter Green fabric on our website today and get 15% off.
