April 11th – Wasabi- Some Like it Hot

Today’s Kona color of the day is Wasabi. Normally I would think of Sushi when you say wasabi. I’m not a picky eater and I have a wide variety of foods from many different cultures that I enjoy eating, but I’m not really into sushi, and I find wasabi a little too hot for my taste. I don’t mind a California roll, but something about raw fish just doesn’t sound appetizing to me.

However I am digging this color and this quilt by Elizabeth Hartman, who is a designer that I admire greatly. My daughter and I had the chance to meet her several years ago, and we went all fan girl on her. She is sweet and down to earth, and has a lot of great stories about her journey into the quilting world. I have completed one of her quilts and I currently have Bjorn Bear as a WIP. I also have several of her patterns that are on my to do list.

Share your favorite type of Sushi with me and I just might become a little more adventurous and give it another try, or not. You can just pick up your own wasabi HERE.
