Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Brt Peri (Bright Perwinkle). I always thought that Periwinkle was more blue than purple, but this color is a darker purple that will work with just about any other yellow, green, blue or peach. It’s darker than I expected it to be, but that doesn’t bother me one bit.
Some facts about Periwinkle you may not have known (according to Better Homes and Gardens):
- Periwinkle is a trailing, ground-covering plant.
- It has star like flowers.
- It’s genus name is Vinca Minor.
- It’s deer resistant and low maintenance.
- It attracts birds.
- It will grow in shady spots where grass won’t even grow.
- It’s pretty tough and can grow in almost any situation, rich soil or poor soil alike.
So if you’re interested in a great, hardy purple, try this awesome color. Here it is in another quilt.
