June 17th- Forest- Can’t See the Forest Through the Trees

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Forest.

Forest Park has become my happy place. This picture was taken in January and I am standing in front of a Magnolia tree in the park. When we are hiking we tend to stop at this spot and take pictures, so I refer to this as my Magnolia tree. Forest Park is also home to the International Rose Test Garden. We moved to Oregon in January of 2014, and one of the first places we explored was the rose garden in early February. At that point the roses were not in bloom and they were cut back to just small stick bushes, so it was not very impressive. As we left my husband said that we can cross that off of our list of places that we have visited. I thought he was serious. However, we have been back to the rose garden and Forest Park more times than I can count and we have hiked many miles through the forest.

Forest is a deep dark green that will leave you longing for a walk in nature.
