As I write this post I am sitting at O’Hare International Airport waiting for a flight back to Portland, OR, not Aruba or Jamaica. I have spent the last 9 days traveling with my daughter. Last week I helped her pack up all of her worldly possessions in a 5′ x 8′ trailer and we drove from Portland to Illinois. Along the way we had many adventures and were able to stop and see my son and my parents and in-laws. She is now on her own driving the last few hours to her final destination of Toledo, Ohio. She will start her new job in Plymouth, Michigan next Monday. I will miss her terribly, as she is my quilting buddy and my quilt shopping companion. We did manage to hit a few quilt shops along the way and I can’t wait to see what she will create next, even if it is through zoom or texts.
As for today’s color, it is a beautiful blue. I have never been to Jamaica, but I would like to think that this is the color of the water. I don’t have a swatch of this color in front of me, but I would pair it with other shades of blues and greens, and maybe even throw in some soft yellows, pinks, and oranges. After this road trip I think I need a vacation, but my next adventure begins with our own move to Dallas, Texas next week. I guess Jamaica will have to wait.
