July 2nd – And the Dark Violets Bloom…

Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Dk Violet.

Well, the name of the color kind of gives away whether it is light, medium or dark. It’s dark. It’s violet. It’s beautiful.

Violet are beautiful flowers and vary in color from light blue-purple to a deep dark purple. There are approximately 400 types of violet plants in the genus Viola, according to Gardening Know How.

Pansies are often mistaken for violets, but truthfully, they are a cross between wild violets and are in the genus Viola. But let’s set this aside and see this next quilt featuring many in the purple family, including Dk Violet.

This quilt is just screaming to be made. I mean, who WOULDN’T want this beauty hanging on their wall or laid out over a bed. It’s just so serene. And don’t stop there, do it in other color families, like blue, green, orange or yellow. Why not? Or do a rainbow of different colors in red, yellow, blue, green, orange and purple! They could be done in a bevy of pinks, or in all neutrals. Or, a study of black, white and gray.

Think of the many amazing color combinations you could put here. Get started here today.
