July 17th- Curry – I’m in a Bit of a Curry

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Curry.

Looking at today’s color makes me hungry. I was not always a fan of curry, but I am slowly trying it and have decided that I do not mind dishes made with curry. I am not a picky eater and I am getting more adventurous with the foods that I do eat. When our kids were younger we took them to an Indian restaurant that featured a buffet, which was perfect for their first introduction to Indian food. My husband suggested that they take just a little bit of each food and try it to see if they liked it, and then go back and get what they liked. That is now my approach to trying something new. Usually I will try a bite or two off of my husband’s plate and decide if I like it, and then the next time I will know if I want to order that particular dish.

Today’s color is a shade of what I would describe as a mustard yellow. I would pair it with different shades of orange, greens, and browns. I have to attribute this quilt to my husband because his name is Jim and he introduced me to curry, but he is not simple. This quilt uses the Tri-Recs ruler to create the blocks.
