Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Watermelon.
I love watermelon and today’s color is as delicious as the summertime fruit, minus the seeds. I would describe today’s color as a dusty pink. Growing up it was fun to sit out on the back porch stairs and consume tons of watermelon. It was juicy and sweet and my mom would send us outside to eat it because of the juice and the mess we would create. That usually ended up in a seed spitting contest between my brother and I and any of the other neighborhood kids who came to join us. It was a lot of fun and this color brings back some great memories.
Our featured quilt is by Robert Kaufman designers and features lots of different shades of pinks. It is constructed with two flying geese and two squares placed in the corners of a rectangle. Twenty hearts are used in this quilt. It’s never to early to be thinking about Valentine’s Day and this would make a snugly quilt for someone you love.
