September 30th- Sweet is the Juniper

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Juniper.

My daughter and I have a saying, “Panels make quilting easier.” If only this were true. Over the years we have both collected several panels with the good intentions of using them in a quilt to speed up the process. Unfortunately most of my panels are still sitting in a box waiting to be loved. When I saw this quilt I thought this would be a great way to incorporate a panel into a quilt. It would not necessarily have to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but any Christmas or winter scene would work. Now I am off to dig up some fabric and find my panels and turn them into a quick and easy quilt.

Today’s color Juniper is a dark green. I happen to really like this shade and I have some in my stash for a quilt that I am planning. It is early in the process, so I do not have anything to show, but I have paired it with Old Green and Evergreen along with Snow. I will tell you that it consists of 96 half-square triangles.

Let us know what is on your cutting table today. We will be getting some great new panels in the studio later in the week, so stay tuned.
