October 31st – Duckling – Quack, Quack, Quack

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Duckling.

This picture just makes me happy. I grew up on the Illinois river and ducks were always a part of my childhood. In my family no one liked the heels of the bread, so my mom would save them and when we had quite a few we would venture down to the river and feed the ducks. Once the ducks realized we were tossing bread crumbs to them they would come flocking. They would soon be joined by the Canadian geese who were much more aggressive.

Today’s color Duckling brings back those fond memories. It is a medium yellow color that is just a bit bold when compared to the other yellows. You can see in the quilt that it plays well with other yellows and oranges. This quilt is one of 12 quilts that will be featured in the 2022 Kona Cotton Solids 365 Quilt Calendar. We have ordered these calendars, so if you would like to reserve a copy, please contact us and we will ship one out to you as soon as they arrive in the studio.
