November 24th – Prim(rose) and Proper

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Primrose.

When I was younger I had an obsession with pink. My room was pink with pink and white shag carpet, my curtains were pink, my sheets were pink, you get the picture. My grandmother made a quilt for my bed using some of my favorite outgrown clothes and leftover fabric. It is scrappy and wonderful and while I do not use it anymore I still have it and treasure it dearly. I was not a quilter when my grandmother was alive and I wish I could talk to her more about her process. My quilt is not machine quilted, but quilted by hand, which is something I have not attempted to do on one of my quilts yet. One of these days I will find the time to sit and hand quilt a quilt.

This quilt Luminous features the color Primrose, which is a more of a peachy pink than a true pink. It is a soft medium shade that I would use in a girly quilt.
