November 27th – Cheddar Makes it Better

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Cheddar.

I am not a huge cheese person. I tend to stick with Cheddar, Mozzarella, Gouda, Colby Jack. You know, the milder ones. My husband likes cheese, pretty much any cheese. I’m not sure that there is a cheese out there that he won’t at least try. My favorite cheese brand is Tillamook. If you visit Tillamook, OR there is a cheese factory there that offers tours of the creamery. It is very interesting to watch the lines run and see how the cheese is cut and packaged. At the end of the tour you can sample all of the different cheeses. They also make ice cream, so my favorite part is to stop and get a cone for the road.

Cheddar is a light golden yellow. It would play perfectly with bright teals, reds, and blues like in the quilt by Darlene Zimmerman.
