December 10th – Without a Ballerina, What’s the Pointe?

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Ballerina.

I never had any desire to be a ballerina when I was growing up. Growing up in a small town we were fortunate enough to have a dance studio that offered ballet, tap, tumbling and gymnastics. I took gymnastics for several years but I just wasn’t limber enough to really master anything very well. Mimi ran the studio and I was enrolled in a Saturday morning class. The dance studio was located above the flower shop and I can only imagine what it sounded like when 10 or 12 girls were practicing in the studio. My daughter on the other hand wanted to take ballet when she was about 4 years old. I enrolled her in a class taught through the park district. The first several classed were mainly about foot position and standing in the different positions. At 4 years old her idea was that she would go to a class or two and be a ballerina dancing the Nutcracker. I do not think that she took another class after that.

Today’s color is a pinkish purple color. Not really pink, not really purple, and not even really lilac in color. It is more pink than anything. I know that everyone is focused on the holidays but Valentines Day is in a little over 2 months from now. It’s never too early to be planning a special quilt for that special someone.
