December 9th – Dusty Blue

This is the Kona Cotton color of the day for Dec 9th. Yes, I’m a day late and a dollar short.

Dusty blue is a very light, barely there aqua blue that could also work well as a background color if you were in the mood for that. I often like quilts that aren’t just black or white for background colors, but push the envelope with a myriad of other colors to try from light to dark. So maybe you will give this a go and try it as a background color. IF you DO, be sure to send us a picture of your quilt or project so we can share in the yumminess of color! It also has a hint of green in the color making it look slightly aqua or teal. It’s so light though, you can barely tell it unless it is directly up against a true blue, and then you can see that it isn’t quite all blue.

I have been on a color boarding kick in the last month or so. For the end of the year, I’d love to continue with that. I know recently my palette shades are a little muted. That may be so, but I like them nonetheless. Here is my color boarding take on Dusty Blue. What do you think?
