December 12th – Knock, Knock… Who’s There? ….Cantaloupe

Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Cantaloupe!

Knock, Knock.

Who’s There?

Cantaloupe…

Cantaloupe who?

Cantaloupe today, I’m already married!

I know. It’s a bad and old joke. Well, that is kind of like ME. But today’s color is pretty awesome as far as orange-y colors go. And ya’ll know orange-y colors are NOT my favorite. But this cantaloupe, is pretty cool. It’s bright, but not garish. It does have softer muted tones, but it still spells fun to my eyes. When I look at this color I am reminded of the orange creamsicle, which I loved as a kid growing up. Just a few years back there was an orange creamsicle like ice cream cone that you could get in the freezer section of the grocery store. No chocolate – yeah me! Just orange creamsicle in an ice cream cone. It’s been so long now that I don’t even remember who the maker was, but I haven’t seen it in quite a long time. It was a favorite at my house getting no complaints from handsome or my youngest son, mini-handsome.

We’ve featured the quilt below on our blog before, but it just bears repeating because it features our cantaloupe color.

I think I will probably purchase this pattern from Kitchen Table Quilting just because it IS pretty awesome and I want to do it. Want to make this quilt with me? Let me know in the comments.
