June 28th- Peony- Love at First Sight

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Peony.

One of the things that I currently miss about not having a garden is the ability to go out and cut fresh flowers and bring them in the house. When I did have a garden I had several Peony bushes in a variety of colors that I would cut and put in vases. The one thing I do not like about Peonies are the ants that are attracted to them. I would always have to shake them vigorously to remove as many ants as possible, and then take my chances when I brought them in. Maybe there is a different way to handle this, but it was always worth it to put up with a few ants in order to have these beautiful flowers on my table.

Today is my mom’s birthday, so I want to wish her a happy birthday. Although she did not teach me how to quilt, she did teach me how to sew. I am not a very patient person when it comes to learning something new, so we often clashed during these times. We now share a love of fabric and quilting, and for that I will be forever thankful and grateful. Happy Birthday Mom!

I promise that you will not have any problems with today’s color. This shade of light pink is ant free and will not cause you any problems.
