Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is School Bus.
So this color is a rich medium orange color, which is funny to me because I always pictured school buses as yellow not orange.
My friend, Diane, who is moving to Texas in a couple of weeks (YEAH!!), and I categorized all 365 Kona colors. We both did it without the other realizing it. Then we started talking about it and laughed that our brains went in the same direction. Great friends think alike. Sometimes it’s disturbing and other times, its downright frightening…. and funny. One of these days I half expect us to be finishing each other’s sentences. Well, in our categorization of the Kona colors, and I’ll have to look up the exact numbers because I’m sure I wrote them down somewhere…. anyway, we realized that 22% of the colors had to do with food. Think Mac and Cheese, or Asparagus, Basil or Nacho Cheese. 20% had to do with plants and the like (Foxglove, Hyacinth, Periwinkle, Honeysuckle and Spruce – to name a few). 18% had to do with objects (like School Bus or Charcoal) and 10% had to do with locations (Paris, Aruba, Mediterranean) and 10% for ideas. And there were a few more smaller percentages for categories, but I don’t have them in front of me and I don’t remember right off the top of my head.
School bus is a good color. Look at it in this modern quilt below.
