Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Surf. Yeah, baby! A medium true blue that makes you wanna jump in the waves at the beach.
That trip my family took south and walked along the Texas coast when I was around 11 or 12 is the only time I’ve been to the ocean and I have never been surfing. I will likely NEVER go surfing. First, I don’t know how and second, it’s not nice to scare the marine life.
I had a friend of mine tell me that her boyfriend liked swimming in the ocean early in the morning. He was from France. She told me that he had taken a trip to Florida several years back and was swimming early in the morning like he did in his native country, but felt like he wasn’t alone. He was so unnerved by the whole thing. It wasn’t until later that he learned from someone in the coastguard nearby that they had been watching him closely because a shark had been swimming with him in concert, turn for turn, and they were preparing to have to make a rescue. But the boyfriend had swum back to shore and safety. Nope. Uh-uh. You could not PAY me to swim with sharks, near sharks, or at any time at dawn or dusk when they like to hunt. NO WAY!
So let’s come back to the safety of the shore and our happy quilting fun!
