Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Kiwi. Yes, the fruit. The fabric color is a light to medium green, but slightly darker than the actual fruit inside. I have never gotten kiwis that were as green as the picture. And I’ve only had kiwis a couple of times in my life. They aren’t bad or good to my taste really. I find them just meh. For my oldest daughter, however, it’s her favorite fruit. If you were to ask her what fruit she would want to eat, hands down she would say kiwi, each and every time.
Kiwis are also called the Chinese Gooseberry, but it’s name was changed to avoid any negative connotations. It’s name was changed because the outside of the fruit closely resembles the fuzzy brown kiwi (the bird), which is the national bird of New Zealand. From a nutritional standpoint, Kiwis have more potassium than bananas and more Vitamin C than oranges. And they have a high fiber content.
We’ve showcased the following quilt before for another “green” color (leprechaun), but this same quilt also showcases kiwi as well. Take a look!

But don’t wait! You can get kiwi (the fabric) on our website for 15% off today only! Get some and make this stunning quilt!
