August 28th- Water- Don’t Make Waves

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Water.

Water is essential and vital for all forms of life even though it provides no calories or organic nutrients. It is my beverage of choice to drink and if a recreation activity involves water I am all in. I have been swimming all my life in pools, lakes and oceans. It is my dream to retire to the coast and have the ability to walk along the sand and the beach everyday. Living in Texas I am a four to five hour drive to the beach, whereas living in Oregon it was just an hour and a half. I probably won’t be able to make it as often now, so today’s color will have to do in its place.

Today’s color Water is a beautiful shade of blue, it is a meduim blue that is not too light and not too dark. It almost reminds me of the sky on a bright sunny day when there is not a cloud in the sky. If I am looking for a good color combination I might pair it with orange, which is directly opposite on the color wheel. I also would pair it with purples and teals which are on either side of blue on the color wheel. If I wanted a monochromatic look I would pair it with other shades of blue. Any way you decide, it won’t be a bad combination.

Let us know what is on your cutting table this weekend.
