Today’s Kona Cotton color of the day is Caribbean.

Caribbean is medium to dark teal blue that is quickly becoming a favorite color of mine.

There is nothing better in my opinion than 80s music, because it’s so diverse in style and genre, unless you go back to the 70s and that also had a wide diversity to it.

Some of my favorite 80s musicians were:

  • Journey
  • REO Speedwagon
  • Aerosmith
  • Lionel Ritchie
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Billy Joel
  • Phil Collins
  • Whitney Houston
  • AC/DC
  • Bon Jovi
  • Duran Duran
  • John Cougar Mellencamp
  • Queen
  • Huey Lewis and the News
  • Hall and Oates
  • Peter Gabriel
  • Cher
  • The Eurythmics
  • The Cars
  • ZZ Top
  • The Rolling Stones
  • Heart
  • David Bowie
  • Elton John
  • Rod Stewart
  • Stevie Wonder
  • Fleetwood Mac
  • Paul McCartney
  • Culture Club
  • Gloria Estefan
  • Chicago
  • The Bangles
  • Men at Work
  • Kenny Loggins
  • Billy Ocean
  • Tears for Fears

And there were SO many more! But every time I see the word Caribbean… I cannot say it without the Billy Ocean song going through my head — Caribbean Queen. I loved that song amongst many others. I will share a couple of my favorite songs.

Yeah…. the 80’s! Those were the days. In the 80s I was a teenager, I got married, I had two kids and life was just grand. The 80s was also when I discovered quilting at the age of 17 – 18.

So to have fun with the 80s….. here is my take on Caribbean.

But it’s not the only thing that my mind is drawn to when thinking about the 80s. Like this one, another of my favorite bands….

But why should we stop there? We need to go for broke! Here you go!

Aside from the language… one of our fun movies to watch during the 80s was Jumping Jack Flash…starring Whoopi Goldberg and the main music from the title by none other than….. yes, you got it…. the Rolling Stones.

But just like I had some guilty pleasures in the 80s with movies and music… my guilty pleasures today are designing and quilting. Let us know in the comments below if you remember the 80s and what your favorite music was back then.

And…. what’s on your cutting table this week??
