Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Ochre.
I feel like today’s color is another Bob Ross color. It is one of those perfect shades of the leaves in the fall when the trees are changing colors. When my husband and I bought our first house in Illinois it was on a corner lot. The city had planted trees along the berm and we had a total of fourteen mature trees. That fall the trees burst into color of different shades of reds and yellows. The first few years it was fun to rake leaves and the kids would jump into the massive piles. As they grew older it became more of a chore and not something that was fun anymore. When we moved to Oregon I actually missed raking leaves that first fall. We also did not experience the changing of the colors as much as we did in Illinois. I now live in Texas and I am not sure what to expect. This will be my first fall and I haven’t really seen any signs of the leaves turning colors yet.
I guess today’s color will have to do if I don’t get to enjoy the leaves changing colors. Ochre is a golden yellow. It would be perfect for any fall project that you might be planning, especially if it involves making leaves. Pair it with other reds and yellows, and maybe even some browns and you have the perfect combination for a fall quilt.
