December 21st – In Search of the Perfect Scone

Today’s Kona cotton color of the day is Scone.

I am always in search of a good scone, and I have not been able to perfect them in my kitchen. I want one that is dense but a little bit moist and not too crumbly. Maybe I am asking too much. I always buy a package of dried cranberries with the intentions of making them on a Saturday morning, but I usually just end up eating the cranberries before I muster up the time to bake.

Today’s color is a medium wheat color. I just finished making this quilt. This was a special quilt for Kathleen’s husband for their anniversary. He wanted it to look like it was going from the outside in, so I reversed all of the blocks so that the darker blocks were in the middle going out towards lighter blocks. I apologize that it is not a better picture, but it has already been gifted and her husband loves it.
